I hope to give fellow transplants an experience from back home, and locals a chance to see what it’s all about! Excited to serve everyone a Taste Of New York!
For those that are interested:
I am a native New Yorker, born in Huntington and resided until about the age of twenty. I’ve been here in Ridgecrest for a decade now.
My grandmother, Margot (who we call Oma) was a German immigrant. I have several memories of her kitchen, one in particular of her showing me how to make fresh spaetzle.
My other grandmother, Madeline, was born to Irish and German parents. Her father worked for the Brooklyn NYPD. Love was always shown through food in her home, which I was in often.
I grew up in an Italian household and my cooking and baking are highly influenced by all of these aspects.
I have lived in Ridgecrest for about ten years and have always noticed there isn’t much Italian food in general. Starting this business was an idea I’ve had for years, but never planned to execute until this past year. We all know things are rough, and I personally have been without a job for over a year now. I also became aware that I was always going to wonder if this idea of mine would be successful.
So here I am!
